HVAC Installation in Brooklyn

New systems built for Brooklyn buildings — brownstones, co-ops, prewar apartments, and new construction. Central AC, mini-splits, furnaces, heat pumps, and boilers from the brands that actually last.

New HVAC Systems Designed for Brooklyn Buildings

Brooklyn isn't suburban tract housing. The buildings are older, the floor plans are stranger, the access is tighter, and the heat-load patterns don't match what an out-of-borough HVAC contractor expects. A 4-story brownstone in Park Slope, a top-floor co-op in Brooklyn Heights, and a renovated wood-frame in Bed-Stuy each need a different approach — and we install in all of them every week.

We install central air conditioning systems, ductless mini-splits (single-zone and multi-zone), gas furnaces, air-source and hybrid heat pumps, and boilers from Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Trane, Carrier, Bryant, LG, and other major HVAC manufacturers. Brand selection isn't a coin flip — it depends on the application, the existing infrastructure, and what's worth paying for in your specific situation. We'll walk through the trade-offs at the consultation.

Fast turnaround on new installations — call us and we'll get you on the schedule quickly. The consultation and the written quote are free.

Real Brooklyn Job

Before & After

Brooklyn rooftop HVAC install — Lennox to Bosch upgrade, before and after comparison

Brooklyn rooftop install — Lennox → Bosch upgrade. Higher efficiency, lower energy bills, dramatically cleaner installation.

What We Install

Central Air Conditioning

Full central AC installs for brownstones, co-ops, and single-family homes — sized to your space and your existing ductwork, not whatever's on the truck.

Ductless Mini-Splits

Single-zone and multi-zone mini-splits for prewar buildings, additions, and any space where running ductwork isn't realistic. Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, LG.

Heating Systems

Gas furnaces, air-source and hybrid heat pumps, and boilers — sized off a real load calc, not a rule of thumb.

Full HVAC Replacements

Complete swap-outs when an old system is past saving — heating and cooling replaced together so the new equipment is properly matched.

Built for Brooklyn Buildings

Most of our installs come with Brooklyn-specific complications: brownstone retrofits where there's no obvious place for ductwork, co-op and condo board approvals that need drawings and a COI before work starts, line-set routing on landmarked streets where anything visible from the sidewalk is a problem, and old service alleys that take careful planning to navigate with new equipment.

We do this every week, in every kind of Brooklyn building. We know which condenser placements LPC will accept on a rowhouse facade, which boards require sound documentation before signing off on a rooftop unit, and how to route a multi-zone lineset through a four-story brownstone without trashing the parlor ceiling.

Reviews

What Brooklyn Says

4.9 stars from 200+ verified reviews across Google, Yelp, Thumbtack, HomeAdvisor.

Picked up. Showed up. Fixed it.

"My AC stopped working as a heat wave started. Ben picked up the phone when I called, gave me a realistic assessment of his availability, arrived when he said he would, was straightforward about the cost — and then did a tremendous job."

Justin V., Park Slope · June 2025

New furnace for the cost of a cleaning

"I called Brownstone for a second opinion after my heat stopped working during deep freeze. The first company wanted to charge a high price to dismantle and clean my system. Ben offered a much better option — for the same price, he installed a brand new furnace and motor."

Jonathan B., Cobble Hill · February 2026

Reliable, quick, gets to the issue

"Ben has been helping me with my many AC needs for the past few years. He is very reliable, has always found the issue quickly, and has been able to solve it."

Arturo M., Bed-Stuy · September 2024

Installation FAQs

How is the system sized?+

We do a real load calculation based on the size, layout, insulation, and window exposure of your space. Brooklyn buildings are notorious for being mis-sized when contractors guess — too-big systems short-cycle, run humid, and wear out fast. We size it right the first time.

Which brand should I install?+

Depends on the application. Daikin and Mitsubishi lead on multi-zone ductless. Fujitsu is a workhorse on single-zone retrofits. Trane, Carrier, and Bryant are solid choices for traditional central air in brownstones and single-families. We'll walk through the trade-offs in plain English at the consultation — quiet operation, efficiency rating, parts availability, warranty length — so the choice makes sense for your situation.

Can you install in a brownstone without ductwork?+

Yes — and it's one of the most common jobs we do. Ductless mini-splits are usually the right answer for prewar Brooklyn buildings because they don't require opening up ceilings and chases. We can also run high-velocity ducted systems (Unico/SpacePak) where there's a real reason to keep things hidden.

Do you handle co-op and condo board approvals?+

Constantly. We've put together drawings, COIs, condenser-location plans, and noise documentation for board submissions across Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope, Cobble Hill, and Carroll Gardens co-ops. We know what most boards want to see before they'll approve a sleeve cut or a rooftop condenser.

Do you offer financing?+

Yes — $0 down, 18-month 0% APR available through Wisetack on qualifying installs. Soft credit check with no impact to your score. Most customers prequalify in under 60 seconds.

What's the warranty?+

All installation labor is guaranteed for one full year. Manufacturer warranties on equipment vary by brand and are confirmed in your written estimate.

How fast can you start the install?+

Fast turnaround on new installations — call us and we'll get you on the schedule quickly.

Is the quote really free?+

Yes. No-charge in-home consultation and a written, itemized quote. No high-pressure sales pitch.
